How PAC Works: Polyanionic Cellulose functions by adsorbing onto clay particles and drill solids, forming a protective colloidal barrier that reduces permeability and minimizes filtrate invasion into permeable formations. The polyanionic nature of the polymer provides enhanced stability in the presence of electrolytes, allowing it to maintain its fluid loss control and viscosifying properties even in high-salt environments where conventional polymers may fail.
